TCF Laws & Statutes - NO SPAMMING - This is generally unsolicited posts that may involve advertising, "soliciting", useless posts designed to make other users angry, cross-posting the same or similar message in more than one thread, flooding other users with private mail (PMs) with like messages, can be related to junk mail. This is the type of mail or post individuals buy spam remover type programs to eliminate. At the very least, they represent an abuse to the server and to the Members wanting to receive services from that server. It may represent messages that a "troll" or "flamer" might post on the forum or make mass private mails to multiple Members of the forum. A message that is against the rules for posting on the forum is also against the rules for using in mass private mailings to other Members. These messages have become such an abuse to the server and the Members wanting to receive services from the server that they may be grounds for immediate banning. Some people may become Members for the sole purpose of distributing "spam", and those users waste their time completely. Their messages will be deleted, and they will be banned. This obviously applies to links, banners, or information included in a Member's profile that may accomplish the same thing.
- NO SOLICITING - Generally, this is the asking for donations, the offering of business opportunities, and any number of other requests that may be related to spam and/or advertising. This obviously applies to links, banners, or information included in a Member's profile that may accomplish the same thing.
- NO TROLLING - Generally, this is a person who wishes to generate useless arguments, personal attacks, disruptive posts, and annoying posts. They have no interest in making a positive contribution to the forum in any way, rather the exact opposite. They are known for abusing the forum, making a pain of themselves, annoying other Members, and causing as much hate and discontent as possible before they are banned.
- ADVERTISING - Advertising is strictly prohibited. Advertising is considered to be a post that attempts to bring public attention to the offering of goods, a product, a business, or a service. This obviously applies to links, banners, or information included in a Member's profile that may accomplish the same thing. This also includes the offering of a free product or service as an enticement or lure with an obvious end purpose of selling goods or services.
- FLAMING - Flaming will NOT be tolerated anywhere outside of Parliament and the Royal Assembly. Even with this allowance, Common Sense should be used at all times. Disruptive attitudes and/or behaviors may still be cause for Warnings and/or Bannings.
- SIGS / AVATARS - Please limit your sigs to no larger than 500x300. This is extremely generous, as anything larger than that becomes annoying to look at (if you don't know how to resize your sig, please ask for assistance). If you feel the need to use more than 1 sig, please limit your entire signature to a space equivalent to 500x350 pixels. If any larger, your sig area will become a scrollable iFrame.
Additionally, please try to limit the filesize of all sigs and avatars to 384KB or less. I'm basing this on the fact that my biggest sigs and avs were never more than 256KB in size...even the animated ones. So, 384KB should be more than enough for people.
This rule (regarding filesizes), will be loosely enforced. i.e. Unless it's blatantly obvious (like a 2MB animation), sigs and avatars won't be looked at...until someone complains about pages loads due to excessively large sigs/avs. If your sig/avatar is brought to our attention, you will be asked to reduce the filesize of your sig/avatar to comply. Failure to do so will result in a Staff Member removing the image from your Profile.
After an image is removed, a Warning (or Ban) will be issued if the removed image is once again added to your Profile without first being modified to comply with these rules.
- NO PORN - This will simply not be tolerated. If you post it, you WILL be banned, and your account may also be deleted. If you want it that badly, go to a site that supports it.
- STAFF DECISIONS / BANNINGS - All Staff Decisions will be final, and made with my full support. Except in extreme cases, 2 Warnings will prelude a Banning (i.e. 3 Strikes and you're out). In all cases, a Staff Member will make an attempt to discuss any infraction of these rules with the offending member in private (such conversations will be kept track of in the Throne Room). However, there are instances where this may not be possible.
- UNWRITTEN RULES - This is commonly called Common Sense. Use it, and everyone will enjoy their posting experience.
- MULTIPLE IDS / ALIASES / ALTER EGOS - There's really no need for that here. Please, only sign-up with one ID. If you think you need a change of pace, you can change the display name in your Profile anytime you'd like.
- HOTLINKING IMAGES - When posting images of any kind, please make sure that they are being hosted by you, and that you are not Hotlinking them from the original server in which you found them. Doing so is considered Bandwidth Theft, and is against the LunarPages ToS (thus making it possible that TCF could be removed from LunarPages' servers -- permanently).
Please note that, if you do not wish to upload an image to your own hosting site, you can still post the LINK to the original image. Simply use the [url] tag instead of the [img] tag.
